beta 2 picture viewer slides screen resolution

Beta 2 Picture Viewer slideshow screen resolution

Hi, I've been fiddling around with Beta 2 lately, and have found some weird things with the screen resolution of the picture viewer when put into slideshow mode. Currently it seems the resolution is hard-coded into the slideshow "Themes" -- meaning on my 1680x1050 screen, it stretches to the full widescreen width and distorts the images at the same time. There is no option to be found anywhere that allows me to change this behavior. It's a different screen resolution for different themes too -- 640x480 for some, 800x600 for others, and the default ("Pan & Zoom") appears to use the same vertical resolution (1050) but just changes it to a 4:3 aspect ratio (so 1440x1050) which the video driver then scales horizontally to fit (that's another problem with the nVidia drivers -- inability to control display scaling).

Thanks for the feedback. Respecting the image’s aspect ratio in widescreen is a known issue for Beta 2. We will be resolving that for RTM.
With respect to resolution changes, richer themes require more GPU resources; hence resolution is scaled down to enable a good viewing experience on a wider set of hardware. Beta 2 scales to one of two resolution settings for all themes. That is why you can see the noticible downsample and scaling issues. For RC1\RTM we will scale much more ganuarly based on hardware.
